Have you ever considered podcasting? It’s such a fun way to share ideas and opinions and a wonderful teaching tool, as well!
In the ADL program, I have greatly appreciated the options offered for producing projects and reflections. Once my small group decided podcasting was the way to go on our recent media project, we were off to the races. Pulling on our shared teaching experiences, plus a passion for tech at multiple grade levels, Lauren, Shaneigh, and I explored several paths in producing this show. Those that know me from life-before-teaching, know my world once revolved around TV news and radio. One part of my job involved producing and delivering newcasts in an allotted amount of time. This felt like a throwback to those days and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Would I do it, again? In a heartbeat!
With all that being said, I invite you to enjoy the first installment of The Empowering Learners Podcast This episode's focus is 3-fold:
AI in the Elementary Classroom
The Power of Student-Created Podcasts
Best Practices for using tech in the Pre-K Setting
If your time is tight and you have a particular interest in one of these areas, we've provided a time-stamped script & outline, with additional resources and examples, so feel free to jump to the starting point for each topic.
With so many topic to choose from, you may wonder why these 3 made our first episode. We are all working on projects that require research, experience, influencing adult learners (our colleagues), and a willingness to do what we are asking others to experience. The tips and topics shared are directly related to these innovation projects. My project focuses on teaching educators to implement a blended model of teaching & learning, using appropriate technology in the early ed setting. I'll need to influence my colleagues at Waterford.org who will then support early ed teachers across the country to implement this plan in their classrooms. To give further context, I've linked an introduction to my Innovation Plan, HERE.
We'd love to hear your feedforward and suggestions for additional podcast topics! Thanks for reading and listening!
