I believe the best way to learn is by doing. I have also learned to listen and respond to what's best for my audience and what they are requesting. While my years as a classroom teacher showed me that hands-on learning is hugely effective, I know the professional educators I now serve have changing needs.
In recent years, we are seeing a demand for more virtual learning. I used to cringe and outright refuse to lead virtual learning sessions. Enter, the Covid-19 pandemic which ushered in a new way of teaching, learning, and working for all ages. While I "delivered" my share of virtual events, I'm dipping my toes into creating an online course with this current project: Using Waterford Data to Inform Instruction, delivered 100% virtually.
I'm excited to share the 6-week course outline and instructional design, plus supporting documents found in the Waterford.org management system. This course will be available for teachers and administrators who are currently utilizing Waterford Reading Academy online programs.
I encourage you to watch this overview video to learn if this online offering is right for you and your school's needs. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a demo at deenafell@waterford.org
